Activities
Our activities are summed up in our motto of reaching and teaching. Other than our discipleship pathway activities here are a few of the programs we regularly participate in:
Hospice Food Pantry Our members contribute to a food pantry that is part of Hospice of the Piedmont’s service to its patients and families. Many of the patients that become part of hospice do not have the funds to provide adequate food for themselves and family members. We help provide that food by bringing single-serving food items to services that are then delivered to Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point. We have been contributing to this ministry for many years.
Prison Ministry As a congregation we financially and spiritually support a female inmate of the women’s prison in Rocky Mount. Our sister is a single mother with family that can not help her financially. Our members are encouraged to write to her and pray for her. The congregation provides a small monthly amount along with other funds as they are needed.
Care Packages We provide care packages for any of our students who are in college and for other college students that we “adopt.” These packages are sent once in the fall and again in the spring and are a source of encouragement and a reminder that they are missed.
Operation Christmas Child For many years we have participated in Samaritan Purse’s Operation Christmas Child. Shoe boxes are filled and dropped off at services on a designated Sunday in mid-November. The shoe boxes are then delivered to an official Samaritan’s Purse drop-off site.
